The Muse (A Special Gift Portrait) - $1500
One person. One moment. Painted with intention.
Weddings have a beautiful way of bringing together the people who mean the most to us and give us a rare opportunity to see them dressed up, celebrating, and completely present in the moment.
The Muse is an intimate, single-subject portrait created to honor someone special from your wedding day. Your mother as she helps you into your dress. Your father before walking you down the aisle. Your maid of honor, best man, sibling, or someone whose presence deserves to be remembered.
Whether commissioned as a heartfelt surprise or a meaningful thank-you, this petite portrait transforms a fleeting moment into a deeply personal gift created just for them.
Paired with a Package, the gift portrait will be captured by photo on the day of the event and painted separately in studio on an 11×14 canvas in acrylic and oil.

Professional grade acrylic and oil paints on either gallery canvas or sealed wood canvas (depending on package)

Ideally a 5x5 location positioned in the shade (if outside) near an outlet if possible so I can have my tablet available. I do have a battery backup if needed.
I will supply the canvas, easel, table and paints.

Absolutely! If your pet cannot attend the event where I can capture a reference photo of them, you are welcome to email me some reference photos of your pet and I would be happy to add them into the image at no extra fee.

If you have a beloved family member or friend who will not be able to attend your event for one reason or another, you can absolutely include them into your painting. I will need several reference photos of the person to learn how they look. Humans are more complicated and take extra time to create on canvas than pets so there is an extra fee of $200 per person for this service.

I am based out of SW Washington, but happily travel to other locations.
There is no travel fee for any events within 100 miles of 98671.
Other locations may require additional travel fees to cover gas and potentially lodging and any other travel fees necessary (flights, etc).

About Jess Kristen
Hi, I’m Jess! I’m an artist, storyteller, and firm believer that some moments deserve more than a spot in your camera roll. I say this of course speaking as a wedding photographer with 20 years experience capturing weddings and live events and with a BA from the USC School of Cinema-Television. I have been an artist since I can remember and drawing and painting were my first obsession. I am currently working on obtaining my MFA in Illustration from SCAD to help further my knowledge and love of visual narration.
Painting weddings live, capturing the people, personality, and feeling of the day as it happens is a pure joy and something I absolutely love doing. As you enjoy the party, I’ll be happily celebrating with you from my little corner of the room, joyfully interacting with your guests as they curiously watch the process of your image come to life and capturing a genuine work of art in process!
